Yesterday morning, Melanie was getting Jolee dressed for school. Suddenly,
Jolee closed her eyes. "Jolee, wake up," Melanie said. Jolee kept her eyes
closed. "Jolee," Melanie called, "If you don't wake up, you can't go to
school." Jolee's eyes popped open and she cried, "But Mommy, I'm using my imagination !"

Jolee's Commercial Update (February 1, 2000)

This Friday, Jolee will be participating in an Easter Seals "Hop-n-ing," or
as we knew it in the old days, a good old hop-a-thon.

Through The Bay Ridge Play Place, Jolee will participate in the Hop-n-ing, in
which she will learn about disabilities, what they are, how they happen, how
to understand those who have them, etc, then helps raise money in a
fundraising challenge.

Those of you who are interested in helping Jolee raise money for Easter
Seals, you can make a pledge-per-hop (in a three minute period), or a flat
donation. Depending on how much money she raises, she is eligible for prizes
ranging from a coloring book to a backpack. If paying by check, please make
payable to Easter Seals.

February Fun

Shayna is proud to announce that she can climb up on the couch all by herself.
Jolee has many favorite Television shows, one is "the Millionaire Show", and
she gets very excited for both Melanie and me when we know the correct
answer, running up to the screen to point it out, in case we missed it. We
also like to call in and try to qualify to be contestants on the show. We use
Melanie's speakerphone in her office, and when the line picks up "Hi, this is
Regis Philbin and you've reached...." Jolee gets very excited and says, "Hey,
it's that millionaire guy!"

Last night, as Shayna ascended and descended from the couch, we all sat down
and watched another one of our favorite shows, in Jolee's words: "Freaks and
Greeks".

Pro Wrestler "Hulk" Hogan Unveils New Move

ATLANTA-----In a much-publicized title bout, Pro Wrestler Terry "Hulk" Hogan
regained his WWF championship title by upsetting his opponent "The Rock." It
was a tough battle, but the turning point came late in the match when Hulk
employed a new move that brought the champion to his knees. In a press
conference after the title bout, Hogan revealed that the new move was called
"The Shayna", named after a young fan in Brooklyn, New York, who reportedly
used the move with great success on her father. Hogan astonished the crowd
when, grinning maniacly, he grabbed a fistful of his opponents' chest hair.
As the surprised wrestler screamed in agony, Hogan then inserted his entire
fist into the champion's mouth. He surrendered immediately. When this
reporter called Shayna Cohen in Brooklyn for a comment, I was told that she
was napping, but the child's mother, Melanie Cohen, confirmed, "Yup, it works
like a charm!" Hogan would not comment if he was consulting little Shayna for
other possible moves he could use in defending his newly-regained title.
