Jolee in Jersey, the Batting Cages, and Daddy's Lost Manhood (September 1998)

On Saturday, we went to Kids World in Elizabeth, New Jersey with Granddaddy Barry. Imagine Toys R Us on growth hormones. It is a huge warehouse complex with a Toys R Us, Kids R us, a carousel, mini-arcade, barbershop, and a food complex all rolled into one. Oh yeah, the reason we went was to get Jolee's picture taken professionally. We did, after a long LONG time manage to get one good shot of her, but would've been much better off taking a picture of her in a strait-jacket. The little angel was not in the mood for pictures. But we survived. Then, we left the loveliness of New Jersey and returned to NYC and Coney Island.
Jolee went on some kiddie rides and Granddaddy won her a couple of stuffed animals. Jolee also enjoyed watching the three of us at the batting cages. Granddaddy learned that the "really fast baseball" setting meant just that: REALLY fast. Unfortunately, I can't make fun of him because I only met with success when I tried out the "slow baseball" setting. Jolee enjoyed banging the aluminum bat around on the concrete. At least she was hitting something more than air.
